Sell Omnipod Pods for Cash: Prices for Omnipod 5 and Dash

A stylized aerial map of central Massachusetts with Worcester centered and a 25-mile pickup radius.

Omnipod pods can be sold for cash when the boxes are sealed and the dating is right. Omnipod 5 (5-pack) pays up to $120. Omnipod Dash pods (5-pack) pay up to $70. Those are the full rates for boxes with 9 or more months before expiration. The supply builds fast. A switch from Dash to Omnipod 5 can leave a cabinet full of sealed Dash packs behind. Still dated right, still in original packaging, and worth real money sitting there.

What Omnipod 5 and Omnipod Dash pods actually pay

Here are the current payouts for sealed, undamaged 5-packs at the standard dating tier. Omnipod 5 (5-pack): up to $120. Omnipod Dash pods (5-pack): up to $70. Both rates apply to boxes with 9 or more months before expiration.

Per-pack payout adds up when insurance has been running ahead of your usage. A single model transition can leave two or three sealed 5-packs behind. If you have a mix of Dash and Omnipod 5 packs, send a group photo to (617) 702-2220 and we will quote the full stack together.

Other Omnipod configurations or pump supply brands not listed here use the same process. Text a photo and we will quote from it. The full price guide lists every published payout across test strips, CGM sensors, and pump supplies.

The dating and condition rules that determine your offer

Omnipod pods need 9 or more months before expiration for the full payout rate. Shorter dating does not automatically mean rejection. Between 3 and 8 months it is quoted case-by-case. Under 3 months the numbers typically do not work.

The expiration date is printed on the outer carton. If you have a stack of 5-packs, check each box individually. Dates can vary across refills even in the same batch. The guide on reading supply expiration dates covers how to find and interpret dates across different diabetic supply packaging.

  • Factory seal intact, with no opened perforations or resealed tabs
  • Box damage smaller than a quarter (damage bigger than a quarter is a hard no)
  • No moisture damage and no blood on the packaging
  • Original 5-pack configuration, not separated or repackaged
Box damage bigger than a quarter disqualifies the box. Smaller damage may result in a deduction rather than rejection. Text a photo and we will tell you directly where it stands.

Why people end up with extra Omnipod pods

The pod model lineup changes faster than most people expect. When someone switches from Omnipod Dash to Omnipod 5, the Dash packs in the cabinet are still sealed, still dated right, and still worth real money. The model transition is the most common source of surplus.

Insurance ships on its own schedule. A prescription update does not always stop the previous fill from arriving. Both models can land in the same week. One you are using, one you are not. A few months of that and the stack grows.

The post on selling supplies after a device switch covers how this surplus pattern works across different diabetic supply types. Omnipod pods follow the same logic: sealed stock from before a transition has real resale value, and it expires on a clock whether or not you sell it.

Local pickup vs mailing your pods in

Once you ship to a mail-in buyer, you are on their timeline. The quote on their website is not necessarily what you get paid. Boxes can be re-graded after they arrive, and payment can take up to 3 weeks from the day you put the pods in the mail. Nine out of ten mail-in buyers will not return your supplies if you disagree with the revised price.

One customer had been sending surplus supplies to a mail-in buyer for a while. After waiting nearly 3 weeks and watching his quoted price get revised once the company had the boxes in hand, he switched to local pickup. He still comes back every few months. Same supplies, cash the same day, no back-and-forth on the number after the fact.

The full local vs. mail-in buyback comparison has the breakdown. Short version: the quote off your photo is what you walk away with. We do not re-grade at pickup.

How the pickup process works

Text a photo to (617) 702-2220. Front of the box with the expiration date in frame. For multiple 5-packs, one group photo works fine and we sort out the individual boxes from there. During business hours (Mon–5at 9am–6pm, Sun 11am–4pm), expect a quote back within about 60 minutes.

The quote from your photo is what you walk away with. We do not re-grade once we have the box in hand. Whatever we say off the photo is what you get paid when the pods leave your hand.

Worcester County and 25 miles out, cash the same day. The core Worcester zone runs same-day most days. Outer towns we schedule when we have stops in the area. Cash, Cash App, or Venmo the day of pickup. Your call.

We have been running these pickups since 2019. That is 2,000+ pickups and $250,000+ paid out across Central Mass. For every published payout across test strips, CGM sensors, and pump supplies, the full price guide has the complete list. The FDA's home-use pump device page and the American Diabetes Association's diabetes technology resource give useful context on how actively the pump market has shifted — which is most of why sealed surplus builds up in the first place.

When not to sell

If you are between refills and still rely on those pods as your active supply, do not sell them. The surplus that makes sense to sell is stock you cannot realistically use before expiration, not supplies that fill a real gap in your day-to-day.

We only want what you do not need. Take care of your health first. If a model transition left you with sealed Dash pods you are not going back to, or Omnipod 5 refills that have built up past what you will use, that is the inventory we are here for. Not a situation where someone sells today and needs those pods next month.

Sealed pods, dated right, box in good shape? Text a photo to (617) 702-2220. If you also have Dexcom or FreeStyle Libre sensors from the same transition, the Dexcom sensor guide and the FreeStyle Libre post cover the same process for those. Send everything in one group photo and we will quote the lot.
